Redmi K30i With 48MP Camera

Xiaomi Redmi K30 global variant lacked any 5G support, though this feature was available in the Chinese model. To bridge this gap and take the crown of the cheapest 5G smartphone, Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a lite variant, the Redmi K30i with 5G support. This time around rumour is that the global variant will have 5G feature as well.

Xiaomi will be cutting corners to lower the price of Redmi K30i 5G variant, one such pointer is the use of 48MP main sensor for its rear quad-camera array instead of the 64MP one present in Redmi K30 devices.

The above information comes from a string the MIUI camera app, to be used in the device "Picasso", which is the codename for Redmi K30 5G. Since this device is available in China with 64MP, it is safe to assume that the global version of Redmi K30i will have similar specs with a different camera setup.

No launch information has been shared yet, this seems to be a minor change to the already existing device, it could be just announced on Weibo anytime soon.
